The destruction of Scotland

These practitioners of the global warming scam plan to destroy the Scottish economy. Maybe not directly, but that's what they are effectively proposing:
Domestic flights must be faced out by the end of next year if Britain is to avoid “a climate emergency”, a group of MPs has said.
The UK is just about the most centralised advanced country of its size. And the "centre" is down at the far end of a long, narrow island. The abolition of domestic UK flying would kill off the Scottish economy. Unsurprisingly, all but one of these MPs represent southern seats at Westminster. OK, here's the deal: abolish domestic flying but move the UK parliament to Glasgow. That'll sort them.

Hong Kong though http://www.slideshare.net/indicusanalytics/habits-of-highly-effective-countries-presentation
describes the neighbiouring Shengzhou province as having the freest economy ever in history. While correlated clearly economic freedom is not the same as political freedom.

Please don't move it here, the traffic is bad enough in the mornings!

On another subject. For someone interested in libertarian ideas, which countries have the best examples of libertarian policies. New Zealand?

I probably didn't make myself clear. I don't think that they see themselves as representing the North of the UK as it really is - i.e. North of Kendal (approximately). My objection is to MPs and others (esp in the media) using the term "North" when that's not the area that they're talking about - in UK terms. MPs and the media are highly London-centric. I recall working with a Londoner who regarded Birmingham as being in the North. Not merely north of London, but way up in the far North. Beyond civilisation. I think that the UK's extreme degree of political centralisation in London harms the country immensely. It would help if politicians developed a basic grasp of the UK's geography. I don't expect that to happen by the way. Move Parliament to Glasgow!

I think your making assumptions that they see themselves respresenting the North of the UK. I would expect them to see themselves as representing their constituents as that is their mandate.
I think you would have to ask them if they think they represent Scotland or NI I'm sure they wouldn't think they did.
I talk about the West Coast or the East Coast... I don't say West Coast of Scotland. I don't think anyone assumes I mean of Britain.

They are all members of the UK Parliament.

All (except the Jarrow one) represents seats in the southern half of the UK. The fact that they all probably see themselves as representing "the North" is one of the reasons why so many folk in Scotland are losing faith in the UK.

You are probably correct in saying that it won't happen.

By the way all of these MPs are from the North of England (not really the South)...

Colin Challen (Morley and Rothwell) Michael Clapham (Barnsley W and Penistone), Ann Cryer (Keighley), Stephen Hepburn (Jarrow), Lindsay Hoyle (Chorley), Paul Holmes (Chesterfield). I trust they cycle to London each week.

55mph speed limits in conjunction with this will mean I can't even drive it quickly.

I guess the only good news is that it won't happen.

Hmm. I guess I'll be adding to the ranks of the unemployed then next year, along with around half my neighbours who travel down south frequently.

They are more than matched by our own idiots - Holyrood having voted unanimously to cut our carbon emissions by 42% over the next 11 years. With nuclear being closed down it will simply be impossible to produce over 50% of current electricity & for much over 50% of the Scottish economy to function.

What a disgrace David. Would you mind if I did a wee bit on this in the morning? I'll obviously give you the credit for bringing it to my attention.
