Note the absence of any mention of social responsibility.But the whole point of individualist libertarianism is that people respect the rights of others, neither initiating force nor being the victims of force initiated by others. There is no conflict with the "Golden Rule". The problem in the US is that the Supreme Court has not upheld the Constitution.Such individualistic materialism is unlikely to hold much appeal for those of us who, whether Christian, Muslim, or humanist, recognise an obligation, under the Golden Rule, to treat others as we would want them to treat us.
