Thought for the day

What would happen if the Muslim Brotherhood/al-Qaeda were to take control of the Suez Canal?

By how much would petrol prices rise in the UK?

How much more valuable would the North Sea Oilfields become?

Would the RAF argue that both Lossiemouth and Leuchars be kept open?

What would the impact be on the accounts of UK PLC?

What would the impact be on the accounts of Scotland PLC?

What effect would all of this have on the forthcoming Holyrood election?

Just asking...

Perhaps Mr Cameron won't go as far as total abolition of the RN. He may merely be content with the neo - Marxist smugness engendered by knowing that the per diem food budget for the Senior Service is kept below that which is allocated to feed inmates of British prisons.

I suspect one answer would be "Call-me-Dave would complete the abolition of the Royal Navy".

But then - silly me - he's doing this already, even though all the upheavals in the Middle East are only just getting going.
