But what about Scotland?
In a 22-country survey published in January, France was the only nation disagreeing with the premise that the best system is "the free-market economy."
I'm sure we can beat the Frogs on that one.

Not difficult really: easy hours, plenty of hols, no hassle if you take long sick leaves, little or no discipline, complete security, and a guaranteed pension at someone else's expense. 
 
For many people, this is pretty much irresistible.

People working in a private concern being rewarded for the quality of their work are happier than government drudges being spat at by the Muslim kids in the Banlieus? What?! 
 
How did people ever come to prefer being cossetted by the goobermint to living their own lives?
