James Higham Interesting. When I try to "subscribe" you to my Google Reader, there is a little pop up panel to put your url into. When I do this, it should bring up your site in the window with your posts showing in order of posting.
However, with yours, it doesn't do that. It shows, for example, the Englishman and other sites instead, under some other scheme I can't follow. So clearly the feeds are not getting to Google and therefore not coming through here.
I'll give it another try now.

David Farrer James,
Another thing. I just looked at my Sitemeter and there are several referrals from google.com/reader/view.

David Farrer James,
I don't understand too much about feeds but I think there may be a problem with my having a "classic" blogger template.
The feed button is switched on and there is definitely an "atom" feed. I have no idea how that differs from "RSS". The blogger help system didn't help me at all on this. The Atom feed works fine on Bloglines - it was the first one I put on when I opened my Bloglines account and it updates every time I post. It seems to have 42 subscribers.
I've just logged on to my Google account and saw that I'd opened a Google Reader although it's never been looked at as I use Bloglines. I went into the subscribe section and typed in "Freedom and Whisky". It came up with this: "http://freedomandwhisky.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default" I subscribed and it works! I'd be pleased to hear if this works for you.

James Higham Yes, I've just been teaching the Russians about the usefulness of the word "allegedly" in English.
David - there's a problem with your blog. For some reason you either have feeds switched off or you don't do RSS or something.
Yours is the only blog on my rolls which can't be added to Google Reader and as I view all blogs now via reader, this means you are set aside for "later" and sometimes things get in the way.

I wish you had feeds with your blog.
